BLACK BARN FILBY

In 2016, we purchased a plot of land in Filby Heath. The plot was overgrown and had the remains of a pig shed but we knew it was the perfect place for us to fulfil our dream and build own home. Using the original footprint of that old pig shed, the Black Black was born.

From the start we loved the openness of the area, the beautiful surrounding fields and footpaths that allow us to enjoy stunning countryside walks.

We started by knocking everything down to the foundations allowing us to renovate the space ready for our new home to take shape. We wouldn’t say staying in a caravan in mid-Winter was a highlight but it definitely created some memories and was great to watch everything, from the windows to the roof, being installed.

At last finished in 2020 - all the exciting interior decisions have been completed and the garden is forming into a green paradise. The finished building is now A+++ energy rated due to the way we heat it - drawing heat from the ground source pumps and 3 phase solar panels. We also use water from our well to water the garden.

 

In 2021, we added a sauna to our spa repertoire and decided to start offering unique spa experiences for guests.
